Prior To Your Surgery

There are a few things you should be aware of BEFORE you have your surgery.

Your surgeon will discuss your surgery with you and schedule it with The Surgery Center. Our staff will call you the day before surgery and give you preoperative instructions.

If you haven't been contacted by 3 PM of the day prior to surgery, please call The Surgery Center before 5 PM.

Arrange for an adult or family member to wait for you during your surgery to drive you home. (you will not be able to drive home)

If you have a change in physical condition before surgery such as a cold, fever, persistent cough or rash, please notify your surgeon prior to surgery.

Do not smoke for 24 hours prior to (and after) your surgery.

The Night Before Your Surgery

Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery. This includes gum, water, vitamins or mints, unless your pre-op nurse has given you special instructions. This is for your own safety during anesthesia and surgery. If you do not follow this guideline, your procedure may have to be delayed or rescheduled.
